125 Heroes: Reza Fassihi, PhD

Dr. Reza Fassihi has served Temple University School of Pharmacy with distinction for 34 years.

Dr. Fassihi has taught pharmaceutics in both the PharmD and graduate programs, including didactic and hands-on laboratory components of the curriculum. His research is diverse and very impressive, as he has published 145 peer-reviewed research articles and has trained 29 PhD students. His research has resulted in 10 granted patents to Temple University.

In 2003, he was chosen to join the select group of American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) fellows for his contribution to the field of research and has been an invited speaker at national and international meetings. He has presented multiple seminars within the FDA and pharmaceutical industries and his research work has been peer-reviewed and cited extensively by the scientific community.

Dr. Fassihi retired from TUSP in July 2026, and was granted Professor Emeritus status.
