Dave Lebo

David B. Lebo, R.Ph., Ph.D. currently serves as the director of Temple CGMP Services and a professor of pharmaceutics at Temple University School of Pharmacy (TUSP).

Before joining TUSP, Dr. Lebo gained eight years of pharmaceutical industry experience with Whitehall-Robins, RMRL Research Labs, FMC Biopolymer, Johnson & Johnson, and NexMed. He joined TUSP in 2002 as an adjunct professor of physical pharmacy. In 2005, he was appointed to establish the CGMP Facility.

Since that time, Dr. Lebo has taught in three Pharmaceutics courses and three laboratory courses. He played a pivotal role in establishing the CGMPs for the 21st Century Certificate Program and has provided guidance for the MS in Regulatory Science program.

Dr. Lebo has mentored seven Ph.D. students who are now employed at Bayer, Merck, Roquette, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Intel. He has also mentored Temple Industrial Engineering students in areas such as change control and process capability analysis. In addition, he has mentored pharmacy and master’s students conducting research on drug approval processes.

Dr. Lebo’s contributions have resulted in three awarded patents, more than $4 million in secured funding, and two decades of training pharmacists in CGMP processes.
