Francis Berenato, class of 1982, has mentored many TUSP students for decades. Alumni and students continue to mention how his treatment, knowledge and kindness has made them a better person in the profession. With his positive mentorship, Frank has assisted countless students entering and achieving their pharmacy degree from Temple. He also served as the curator of the Kendig Museum, organizing hundreds of artifacts, posters, and relics. Frank started at a very young age working in pharmacies across South Philadelphia, and later worked at Aversa Pharmacy which he ultimately purchased and owned from 1991 to 2012. During his ownership, he became a preceptor for TUSP and became an adjunct professor. He was also a recipient of the University's Gallery of Success award in 1999, and has been an active member of the TUSP Alumni Association for many years. Frank has always been a very genrous donor and in 2017 established the Jean (Abate) Berenato Scholarship Fund in loving memory of his mother. Frank states that while he has accomplished much success over his career, his greatest achievement has been successfully mentoring students who are the actual heroes of the profession.
