Chana R. Kowarski, PhD was a faculty member and researcher at TUSP whose work focused on pharmaceutics and drug delivery.

For TUSP students that attended in the 1970s to the 1990s, she was known for teaching pharmaceutical calculations during the first professional year.

She is also renowned for original research on intranasal insulin absorption, including a 1987 study published in the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences examining the effect of surfactants on nasal absorption of insulin in dogs and held patents for pharmaceutical formulations related to this work, which inspired the development of inhaled insulin used today.
