Rear Admiral (RADM), retired, Scott Giberson is a graduate of Temple University School of Pharmacy, class of 1993. He holds a master’s in public health and a graduate certificate in health emergencies in large populations from the International Committee of the Red Cross. To date, he has been honored with three honorary doctoral degrees.
For 27 years, RADM Giberson served as a two-star admiral and as an assistant U.S. surgeon general. Throughout his career in the US government, he held multiple executive positions, including senior advisor to the Office of the Surgeon General, director of Commissioned Corps Headquarters /commander of the Commissioned Corps’ Ebola Response in West Africa, chief pharmacist of the USPHS, director of the IHS National HIV/AIDS Program, and senior public health advisor for Pacific Command’s Center of Excellence in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance.
Currently, RADM Giberson serves as the president of AMI Expeditionary Healthcare, a private global healthcare solutions company where he fosters global client relations.
He has authored numerous articles and delivered more than 100 keynote lectures on leadership, global health, and public health both in the US and international venues. For his tireless dedication and service, RADM Giberson has received many awards, including the Presidential Unit Citation from President Obama in the Oval Office for leadership during the West African Ebola response. The Military Officers Association of America also selected him as one of the “Top 100 Veterans in the Last 100 Hundred Years You Need to Know”.
