Margherita M. LaFranco, PharmD was a beloved former professor of clinical pharmacy at Temple University School of Pharmacy and known for her tenure as president of the New Jersey Society of Hospital Pharmacists.

She received the award for achievement in the professional practice of hospital pharmacy from the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists (ASHP) in 1988. This award recognized her work with the New Jersey Department of Health in promoting unit-dose drug distribution, which helps avoid medication administration errors and supports IV admixture services.

Dr. LaFranco was a recognized pharmacist known for co-authoring a notable 1977 rebuttal to the universal Pharm.D. proposal, published in Drug Intelligence & Clinical Pharmacy.
