Rajesh Kishore Kumar Sanku

PhD student in Dr Ilies’ lab. My research is focused on modulation of carbonic anhydrase (CA) and its isozymes using inhibitors and activators.  The aims of my work are to generate anti-cancer compounds and novel nootropics. Working at the interface of drug-discovery and development, I have carried out compound profiling (lead identification and optimization, pre-clinical development) and translational work. I developed different physicochemical and biological assays dedicated to these purposes. I have also used carrier molecules such as cyclodextrins and calixarenes to improve compound solubility and have successfully delivered drug systems based on them.
