Mental Health Care is Available at TUSP

In Spring 2019, the School of Pharmacy launched an initiative to host a counselor onsite to provide mental health support for students. Since then, Conor Smith, who will graduate from Temple University's College of Education with a master of education degree in counseling psychology in May 2020, has held up to 20 office hours per week at the School of Pharmacy.

Conor defines his role as helping to promote awareness and provide education on mental health.

He advises doctor of pharmacy students accordingly: "Be kind to yourself. You are in a really challenging program. Take the time to recognize that achievement and the amount of work that it takes."

An incoming counselor is slated to join the School of Pharmacy for the 2020-2021 academic year.
