Medication Safety Conference FAQs

When and where is the Medication Safety Conference? The conference takes place Friday, October 30, 2026, at Temple University's Medical Education and Research Building (MERB) in Philadelphia.

Who is the keynote speaker? Dr. Douglas Thornton, PharmD, PhD, BCPS, Associate Professor at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy and Director of the PREMIER Center, will deliver the keynote address.

Can you accomodate my dietary needs? We will make every effort to accomodate dietary restrictions, as possible. Please indicate these needs on the registration form.

Will the conference offer continuing education (CE) credit? CE credit is planned for select sessions, including the keynote, panel discussion, and educational breakout sessions. Full accreditation details will be posted as they're confirmed.

Who can attend? The conference is open to faculty and students across Temple's health science schools, TUSP alumni, pharmacy faculty at partner institutions and community organizations.

Is there a poster session? Yes. A student poster competition runs during the lunch hour, with winners recognized at the closing session. Submit your proposal here. <TK>

Why is Temple hosting this now? The conference is part of Temple University School of Pharmacy's 125th anniversary celebration, honoring 125 years of preparing pharmacists for collaborative healthcares and advancing patient care.
