University of Puerto Rico - San Juan, Puerto Rico

While not an international location for US-based students, fourth year students are able to travel outside of the continential United States to complete an APPE rotation at the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan.

Founded in 1913, the School of Pharmacy at the University of Puerto Rico is one of the island's premier institution for pharmacy training. It was the first program in a health profession to be offered at a higher education level in Puerto Rico, and the first to be accredited.

Students can choose from practice experiences in academia, advanced community pharmacy practice, community pharmacy management, medication therapy management, and pharmacogenomics research.

How to Apply

Temple pharmacy students can apply for international APPE rotations during the spring of their PY2 year. Please note that participating students must speak Spanish fluently. Contact the Office of Experiential Education for the application link.
