Research Focus & Activities

Dr. Salim Merali specializes in proteomics, metabolomics, and drug discovery, particularly in diseases such as COPD, Alzheimer’s disease, metabolic disorders (e.g., insulin resistance, NASH), and infectious diseases. His lab integrates bioinformatics, translational medicine, and systems biology for therapeutic discovery.

Key Interests: proteomics and interomics in disease profiling; molecular targets for drug discovery (e.g., Nrf2, GLUT4, H3.3); translational regulation, nanoparticle delivery, and CRISPR-based screens; polyamine metabolism, inflammation, and fibrosis
