Learn in the classroom and in practice
In years one and two, you build your foundation in the classroom. In years three and four, your learning moves into practice. Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences in years one through three place you in real work environments with faculty guidance, and projects bring clinical pharmacy into the community.
In your fourth year, you complete six-week Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience rotations, earning academic credit along the way. Four rotations are required in community practice, ambulatory care, inpatient and institutional settings, and two are electives in specialty care or non-patient care. Sites include Temple Health, locations across Philadelphia and sites nationwide, from Alaska to an American Indian reservation in New Mexico in cooperation with the Indian Health Service. Certain international opportunities are also available. Training settings also include schools, pharmaceutical companies and health insurance companies.
