Through generous support from the Temple University Provost Office's Strategic Fund Initiative, the Temple University School of Pharmacy and Temple University Barnett College of Public Health have been working with a Community Advisory Board of nine organizations serving immigrant and underserved communities to address health education disparities in the region.
Beginning in October, the partnership will launch an Immigrant Health Education Webinar Series during, which includes four Zoom-based Webinars covering the following topics:
- Legal and Policy 
- Social Services and Navigation 
- Trauma-Informed, Culturally Sensitive, and Intersectional Approaches to Health & Mental Health Services 
- Community Engagement & Advocacy 
The first webinar, Understanding Public Benefits Reforms and Medical Repatriation Policies in Philadelphia, is scheduled for Thursday 10/23/2025 4-5pm. Hosted by Temple in collaboration with presenters Andrew Yang, Supervising Attorney, Community Legal Services of Philadelphia and David Bennion, Attorney & Executive Director, Free Migration Project, the webinar was co-designed by community partners and strives to improve healthcare providers' understanding of the rapidly changing landscape of public benefits (e.g., SNAP, Medical Assistance) amongst some of the most vulnerable immigrant populations in North Philadelphia.
