On Saturday, October 11th 2025, student pharmacists from Temple University's School of Pharmacy hosted a community wellness event at the Children’s Mission, an organization that provides a plethora of resources and services to local citizens in North Philly.
Children's Mission serves all age groups, and on Saturday the pharmacy students were able to engage with many members of the local community. The Wellness Event, hosted by members of the Student National Pharmaceutical Association, included free blood pressure screenings; informational materials on dialysis, health literacy, and substance abuse; and a presentation on the difference between blood glucose and A1c.
Student pharmacist participants ranged from first to third years and were joined and supervised by a licensed 2025 Temple pharmacy graduate. The event was impactful on both sides for both the community & the students, especially for one of the PY1 students, who performed her first ever blood pressure screening.
