Responsibilities include staffing a Stroke Prevention and Risk Reduction Clinic. Neurology Physicians, through a collaborative Practice Agreements, refer patients for secondary stroke prevention. Current pharmacotherapy is assessed for appropriateness, effectiveness, and adverse reactions. Alternative therapy is recommended when needed. Physical assessment techniques are performed including blood pressure monitoring. Follow-up is performed to monitor for efficacy and adverse reactions. Primary Preceptor for Doctor of Pharmacy candidates at this site.
