Dr. Ruchalski is a Clinical Pharmacist in Ambulatory Care and a Medication Therapy Management Specialist at the Temple University Stroke Prevention Clinic. His responsibilities include staffing a Stroke Prevention and Risk Reduction Clinic to which patients are referred, through collaborative practice agreements, by neurology physicians for secondary stroke prevention. Through this practice, patients’ current pharmacotherapies are assessed for appropriateness, effectiveness, and adverse reactions; and alternative therapy is recommended when needed. Additionally, physical assessment techniques are performed including blood pressure monitoring, and follow-up is performed to monitor for efficacy and adverse reactions. Dr. Ruchalski is the Primary Preceptor for Doctor of Pharmacy candidates at this site.
