Projected graduation year: 2029

Where did you grow up? I was born and raised in a small town in Pakistan. And I have been living in the US (Philadelphia) since I was 11.

Where did you complete your prerequisite courses? Penn State Abington - I earned a bachelor's in life sciences.

Tell us about yourself: I’m a first-generation college graduate, wife, and mom to a beautiful 2 year old. I truly love what I do because every step I take helps me grow, not just professionally, but personally and balancing family and my education has taught me strength, compassion, and patience.

Why did you choose TUSP over other pharmacy schools? I chose TUSP over other pharmacy schools because of its strong commitment to diversity. Especially being a first gen student, the diversity at TUSP, whether it be students or faculty, makes me feel at home and where I belong.

Did you work in a pharmacy before applying to/starting pharmacy school? Yes - I was a pharmacy cashier. I was always inspired by the positive impact my pharmacist had on the community; that's who I wanted to be.

What do you hope to do after graduation? I hope to open my own pharmacy after graduation.

What's your favorite thing about pharmacy school? The people that I meet along the way and the experiences that we share here.

What's the hardest thing about pharmacy school and how do you deal with it? The hardest part is balancing school and life. But I stay organized, take it one step at a time, and focus on my goals.

What do you like to do in your free time? I love sewing and creating my own designs. It’s a creative outlet that lets me focus, problem-solve, and make something beautiful with my hands.

What are you currently reading/watching/listening to? I enjoy watching medical documentaries and shows that explore healthcare topics, which inspire me in my career journey.

What advice do you have for prospective students? Remember, you belong here. You earned your spot and have everything it takes to succeed. Stay confident, work hard, and trust yourself. Your presence here matters, and you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. Enjoy the process. It might seem long, but it's worth every second.
