As Temple University School of Pharmacy celebrates its 125th anniversary, two of the schools most ardent champions are turning the milestone into an opportunity to invest in the next generation of pharmacy leaders.

Deborah and Bob Schueren, BS '85, have launched a new matching gift campaign, pledging up to $125,000 for the Schueren Family 125th Anniversary Scholarship Fund, an endowed scholarship fund for second year Pharmacy students who demonstrate financial need. The figure was chosen deliberately to honor the school's 125 years of impact, with a goal of raising a total of $250,000.

The Schuerens are no stranger to giving back to Temple Pharmacy. They previously established the Class of 1985 Scholarship Fund with an initial $25,000 gift, which was matched and leveraged to create an endowment that provides annual scholarship support in perpetuity. They have since made additional matching contributions to grow that fund and have donated generously to three other scholarship funds that also provide scholarships into perpetuity. In total, their financial support of School of Pharmacy scholarships has exceeded half a million dollars, demonstrating a sustained and personal commitment to investing in the next generation of Temple pharmacy students.

After earning his BS in Pharmacy from Temple, Bob built a distinguished career in the life sciences, drug development and diagnostics industry. Deborah also spent her career in the biotechnology industry.

Now, the Schuerens are inviting the entire Temple Pharmacy community to join them. Every dollar donated will be matched, up to $125,000, doubling the impact of your gift, and creating $250,000 of new endowment scholarships.
