Temple University School of Pharmacy Hosts a Hybrid Orientation Experience for the PharmD Class of 2024
On July 30-31, Temple University School of Pharmacy welcomed 164 incoming Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) students by hosting a hybrid orientation experience.
Across two days and eight one-and-one-half-hour sessions, the School offered an optional in-person presentation and tour of the School for groups of no more than 21 students at a time.
"Remember why you're here," were Dean Jayanth Panyam's opening words to pull the new students through the highs and lows of the rigorous four years of the PharmD program curriculum that are to come.
PharmD Class of 2024 Faculty Advisor, Dr. Van Hellerslia, shared that she is honored to have been named as the advisor for the Class of 2024, which will be remembered in the School's history for succeeding despite pandemic-related challenges.
To complement the in-person offering, all students were required to watch eight video presentations online on topics from parking to student health services, plus a video of the in-person orientation for those who were unable to attend.
Orientation will continue in August with an online gallery of video presentations by student organization leaders.
