Research Focus & Practice

Dr. Marissa Cavaretta is a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) a Board-Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacy (BCACP) with expertise in internal medicine and transitions of care. She is committed to advancing pharmacist involvement in TOC, fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals, and enhancing patient outcomes through innovative pharmacy-driven services.

Since joining Temple University in 2013, Dr. Cavaretta has maintained a clinical practice in internal medicine at Temple University Hospital, where she precepts pharmacy students and residents. Her expertise lies in transitions of care (TOC), and she has played a key role in developing pharmacy services in this area, including the establishment of a TOC pharmacy consult service.

Practice & Clinical/Community Engagement:

Dr. Cavaretta collaborates with the TUHS Center for Population Health to deliver pharmacy services at the Healthy Together Hub at ShopRite in Philadelphia. As a lead preceptor, she mentors IPPE students who volunteer to screen community members in a medically underserved area for hypertension and diabetes, helping to improve access to care and promote better health outcomes.
