After earning a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy & Science in 1984, Lisa Becker began her career in hospital pharmacy, practicing across Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. During this time, she developed a strong foundation in clinical practice and healthcare systems. In May 2005, Lisa joined Temple University, where she has played a key role in experiential education within the PharmD program.
At Temple, Lisa has expanded experiential learning opportunities by developing new rotation sites that reflect the evolving landscape of pharmacy practice, including placements in pharmacogenomics, pharmaceutical advertising, and healthcare communications agencies that work with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Lisa also founded the school’s Association of Managed Care Pharmacists student chapter and has been dedicated to advising students pursuing careers in managed care, as well as supporting participation in the National P&T Competition. .
She strives to advise students on APPE site selection that meets their individual career goals while ensuring each student has a meaningful rotation experience. Known for her detailed, forward-thinking approach and her belief that most challenges can be solved collaboratively, Lisa has worked to expand elective options and increase clinical rotation time, helping students tailor their experiential education to their professional interests.
