Pauline Montgomery ‘50

The School lost a friend and supporter and the pharmacy profession lost an advocate with the passing of Pauline Montgomery, Class of 1950,  on May 7th.

Pauline was active throughout her life in business, in state & local politics and in the profession of pharmacy.  She was the first female President of the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association, sat on numerous committees and received countless awards and recognitions throughout her career.  She also was a member of the PA State Board of Pharmacy for 19 years.

During her career, Pauline was elected to serve as Mayor of Hughesville, (PA) where she owned several pharmacies as well as a grocery store.   She was named one of Pennsylvania’s Top 50 Business Women.

When the School of Pharmacy established a Board of Visitors, Pauline was one of the first committee members .  She was also the recipient of the University’s Certificate of Honor in 1978.
