Where is Wendy? She has retired after a 44+ year distinguished career at Temple University. Highlights of her career included serving as an adjunct instructor for the English, Art History and Marketing departments of Temple University (instructing courses in the "Research Paper," two courses on "Aesthetics and Fashion" spanning the 18th through early 20th Century, and "Fashion Marketing in NY"). Previously she served as Director of Regional Campuses for Temple U, which included winning an international marketing award from AME for the highly innovative advertising she created for the Ambler Campus in collaboration with Graphic Design Carl Wydra. Their designs received a "special recommendation" competing with Volkswagen and Mastercard. She became involved with the RAQA program in the late 1980s, eventually becoming Assistant Dean in 2001. During her tenure the program expanded rapidly, as she oversaw the creation of over 50 new RA and QA courses, multiple certificates, and 3 additional RAQA non-thesis degrees (GCPR, Pharmaceutical Regulatory Sciences, and Advanced Biotherapeutics: Manufacturing and Regulatory Affairs offered in conjunction with Jefferson University). She also launched online learning at Temple University as well as online proctoring. She gave numerous presentations at national and international conferences and traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad visiting pharmaceutical companies. She oversaw a 12-year partnership with the National University of Singapore in delivering RAQA to their students via videoconferencing and also was responsible for delivering courses to the Egyptian Ministry of Health. She has published various articles in national magazines and also two books on the RAQA program, one of which is in the Library of Congress. In the early 2000s, she launched a series of conferences with FDA and Industry Leaders, with Dr. Janet Woodcock serving as the keynote speaker. In Dec 2024, she received a Letter of Recognition from the FDA Alumni Association, which was attended by the Commissioner. She received her BA in English from Temple University (graduating first in her class, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa), then a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD) from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (part of Harvard and Tufts at the time), and the MS in RAQA, and also took graduate courses in history and political science at Temple. She thanks the RAQA adjuncts, industry and FDA professionals, current students and graduates of the program for their support in making Temple's RAQA program the best of its kind.
