Dr. Whitman Appointed Associate Chair of Pharmacy Practice
Craig Whitman, PharmD, BCPS, BCCCP has been named Associate Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice effective May 6, 2021. Dr. Whitman will continue as a Clinical Professor of Pharmacy Practice and maintain his practice and experiential site in the Medical/Respiratory Intensive Care Unit at Temple University Hospital. He recently served as Interim Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice from September 1, 2020 - April 30, 2021, and previously served as President of the School of Pharmacy's Collegial Assembly.
Dr. Whitman joined the School of Pharmacy in 2014 from Barnes Jewish Hospital where he worked as a Clinical Pharmacist in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Prior to joining Barnes, he was an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy at University of the Sciences where he also developed and served as Director of the PGY-2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency Program.
Dr. Whitman has authored several peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and poster presentations and has delivered numerous invited professional presentations. His research interests are centered on outcomes of critically ill patients related to drug therapy, specifically in the areas of pain, agitation, and delirium and stress ulcer prophylaxis.
