Medicinal Chemistry
Drug Discovery and Synthesis
Medicinal Chemistry, the chemical approach to understanding the biological effects of drugs, integrates the disciplines of organic chemistry and pharmacology, also borrowing heavily from biochemistry, physiology and molecular biology.
Medicinal Chemistry students work toward developing safe and efficacious treatments that are suitable for use in health care today.
As a master’s or doctoral student in the program, you will have at your fingertips some of the most advanced technology in the field. You will work closely with faculty and team members at the fully equipped Moulder Center for Drug Discovery Research, as well as other laboratories at the Health Sciences Campus and affiliated biotech venues in the area.
