Director of the Moulder Center for Drug Discovery Research  

The Temple University School of Pharmacy invites applications for the position of Director of  the Moulder Center for Drug Discovery Research.  

The successful candidate will qualify for an appointment as a full professor at the School. The  areas of interest for the position include but are not exclusive to bispecifics, protein fusions,  drug conjugates, cell therapies, and gene therapies. The successful candidate will have the  opportunity to engage in multidisciplinary research initiatives through collaborations with the  School’s cGMP Facility, the Proteomics Facility, the Jayne Haines Center for Pharmacogenomics  and Drug Safety, and the faculties of medicinal chemistry, drug delivery, and clinical translation  through pharmacy practice.  

Candidates who can leverage expertise, methodologies, and standards to build a program in the  broad areas of small molecules development and Protein Analytics technology platforms are  encouraged to apply.  

Qualifications: 

  • A PharmD, Ph.D., and/or MD degree or equivalent  
  • Demonstrate a strong history of scholarly activity and accomplishments, high-quality  peer-reviewed publications, and extramural funding commensurate with a ranking of  full professor 
  • Demonstrate an outstanding history of scholarly activity and accomplishments in the  broad area of drug discovery 
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to research and teaching and training students,  postdoctoral fellows, future researchers, and faculty
  • Experience generating new Intellectual Property* 

*Several successful startup companies have been established based on drug discovery efforts  and intellectual property at the School. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Discover novel drug candidates and therapeutic entities using modern drug discovery  approaches employing cutting-edge science 
  • Facilitate collaborative research within Temple University and outside universities,  research institutions, pharmaceutical and biotech companies, and other external  collaborators
  • Support translational medicine initiatives by bridging the gap between pre-clinical and  clinical research 
  • Develop a vigorous independent research program leading projects through target  identification to validation and to the development of therapeutic candidates

Department Chair of Pharmacy Practice

Temple University School of Pharmacy (TUSP) is seeking an innovative and collaborative thought leader to motivate and direct the Department of Pharmacy Practice. The Chair is responsible for providing professional leadership and opportunities for development and creating an environment that fosters creativity in teaching, clinical practice, service, research and scholarship for the faculty in the Department.

As a recognized leader, this individual will advance pharmacy practice to align with institutional, regional, and national priorities while maintaining a strong commitment to academic excellence. The preferred candidate will have the ability to enhance the national reputation of the school by cultivating clinical and/or educational research, enhancing post-graduate training programs, and implementing best practices in pharmacy education.

TUSP is committed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion and has implemented a dynamic curriculum utilizing a variety of innovative teaching techniques. Faculty members have access to state-of-the-art facilities, services, and various technologies to assist them in developing active learning pedagogies. The School supports one PGY1 and four PGY2 residencies and two industry fellowship positions. The School’s location on our Health Sciences Campus provides abundant opportunities to collaborate with other health professional educators, clinicians, and researchers. Faculty members are engaged in teaching, mentoring, research, and collaborative relationships with colleagues in the Katz School of Medicine, the Kornberg School of Dentistry, the School of Podiatric Medicine, and the Temple University Hospital and Health System. TUSP houses a pharmacokinetics and bioanalysis facility, the Jayne Haines Center for Pharmacogenomics and Drug Safety, a cGMP facility, a proteomics facility, and the Moulder Center for Drug Discovery Research.  

Minimum qualifications include: a PharmD degree from an accredited college or university, at least one year of residency, specialty or fellowship training, or equivalent clinical experience, a minimum of 5 years of administrative experience or a background that demonstrates leadership skills, and 10 years of faculty experience in an accredited College/School of Pharmacy. The preferred appointment will be at the Professor level although candidates at the Associate Professor level will be considered based on individual qualifications.

Non-Tenure Track Clinical Educator Faculty Position in Ambulatory Care in the Department of Pharmacy Practice

The Department of Pharmacy Practice at Temple University School of Pharmacy is seeking candidates for a non-tenure track clinical educator faculty position in ambulatory care.

The appointment will be at the Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor level based on individual qualifications.

Applicants should have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with postgraduate residency training, preferably with pharmacy practice experience in an ambulatory care clinic.

The successful candidate should possess a high degree of knowledge of the standards and current trends in pharmacy practice particularly in chronic disease management.

Applicants with experience providing medication therapy management (MTM) and operating under collaborative practice agreements will be given preference.
